Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.
Honoring the Deceased
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the loss of his two dear friends.”
