Two Men Face Charges Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.
These accusations come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was among those injured during the incident. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
The incident – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – caused train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
