The Opening Game Pass Titles of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Remains Committed.
Across the gaming landscape, fans keep sounding the death bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a platform few have heard of. Xbox fan sites have started writing about PlayStation as a new development. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. Yet, based exclusively on what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that the green gaming company remains determined to engage players with strong games on its key platform.
The Available Now Titles
A pair of titles that are immediately available as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's truly noteworthy.
Major Titles on the Horizon
On Jan. 13, the subscription service will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes typical Ubisoft design with an intergalactic heist adventure. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of horror and action."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that is incredibly fun, arrives January 7th — and it merits a playthrough even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year may draw you in within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, nor are they tentpole Microsoft studios games that validate the subscription by themselves. Yet, this selection are rock solid. It offers a healthy blend of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that failed to receive the spotlight they warranted upon launch — transforming them into ideal prospects to get a second chance on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
